Origins – Bouvier des Flandres originated from Flanders and were originally bred for their herding and guarding skills. They continued to show adeptness in other facets of dog work and were soon inducted into police work and dog sports.

Bouvier des Flandres Physical Characteristics – Bouviers usually weigh somewhere between 70 and 110 pounds. They stand about 23.5 to 27.5 inches tall and have a strong and muscular build. 

Bouviers vary drastically in color from one to another. The standard colors include fawn, black, brindle, gray, gray brindle and pepper and salt coloring. Other Bouvier colorings include blue, white, silver and gray, black and white and other variations. All colorings make gorgeous coats on these beautiful dogs.
