Protection Dog Profile: Blitz

Blitz is our gorgeous Belgian Malinois with a black mask and fawn coloring. He loves to cuddle and is extremely loving. Blitz looks like he is smiling when he sits next to you and looks up adoringly at you. Blitz is playful and quick to please. Whether it’s a game of fetch with a ball or he’s protecting you from a threat, he wants to make sure you are safe and happy.  He is an agile Malinois with a hard bite that isn’t going to let anyone take advantage of you or your loved ones.  The rest of the time, he is your amazing and incredible buddy who is by your side and wants to hang out and be a loyal friend to you and your family.  Blitz is on the smaller side, compact and good looking – not one of the largest Malinois, so if you think this guy will fit into your life-style, don’t let him get away. His coloring and personality are incredible!  He is perfectly obedience trained, on and off leash and has all the advanced training you would ever want or need.  He has a fierce bite and isn’t about to let anyone get to you.  You can take Blitz anywhere you need to go including work, meetings, the car, on a walk or a run, to your friend’s place, the park or hiking in the mountains.  He is a perfect gentleman and loves company.  He is also great with other animals.  He loves children and is very gentle and sweet with them.

Belgian Malinois dogs can vary a lot in appearance, from sable to red to black to light tan, and with different facial markings and masks.  They can be short or long haired, and they vary in size from medium to large.  Malinois belong to the working dog class, and were originally bred as herding dogs in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and other European countries.  They are popular now in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong. They love to have a job to do, and their typical tasks for police work include odor and explosive detection, detecting accelerants (for arson investigations), sniffing out narcotics, and tracking human suspects for police and search and rescue missions. They are a popular choice for personal protection because they are a dedicated working dog that takes pride in their work and are very attached to their pack (their owners).  They are agile and healthy dogs overall, smaller than German Shepherds, and can live up to 14 years without any major health issues.  Belgian Malinois routinely place high in Dog Trials worldwide.  These dogs have lots of energy, and are sweet, loyal, and loving working dogs.
